Established in 2000, the Volta Center for the Arts is an educational field school located in a fishing village on the eastern coast of Ghana, West Africa. VCA offers a wide range of credit and non-credit programs.

Hands-on sessions of drumming, dancing, and singing; adinkra stamp printing, and kente cloth weaving, are taught by master musicians and artists. Experiential learning is complemented by lectures on language, culture and tradition, traveling to visit shrines, markets, and historical sites.

Out of the tourist mainstream, participants live in traditional thatched dwellings, and have opportunities to engage in daily village life. A special initiative undertaken by VCA, and open to all participants, is an ongoing community service project with local schools.
